- Make sure IQ backup has been completed. (db, images, Informa Program Files folder)
- Upgrade IQ to 10.3 on old PC
- Upgrade 10.3 to 11.2 on old PC (if old PC supports 11.2)
- Launch 11.2 and verify it works properly
- Close all IQ apps and stop and disable IQ services on the old PC
- Backup 11.2 DB in SQL
- Install 11.2 on new pc with SQL 2008 R2 Express using the same db name that is used on the old system
- Delete newly created db on new SQL server
- Migrate/restore the 11.2 DB to the new SQL server
- Copy IQ Images to new PC. Update the path in IQ if necessary
- Open Admin and make sure all links work and previous configurations are available
- Recreate and reshare IQfolder paths if necessary
- Request License key for server ID and new features
- Install 1 client pc and make sure IQdesktop can connect
ALTERNATE PATH (mainly used for custom application installations)
- Make sure IQ backup has been completed. (db, images, Informa Program Files folder, custom applications)
- Restore db backups from 10.2 database to new SQL instance or a new SQL server (ImageQuest media can be downloaded with SQL Server Express if no new instance or server is available and installed on the IQ server)
- Install 10.3 on new server, point to new SQL instance (or Server)newly restored db (make sure it's the warehouse cabinet if multi-cabinet) and let 10.3 installer upgrade the 10.2 db to 10.3.
- Upgrade the new server to 11.2 from 10.3
- Copy IQ Images to new PC or Update the path in IQ if on a shared drive
- Open Admin and make sure all links work and previous configurations are available
- Recreate and reshare IQfolder paths if necessary
- Configure WebIQ on the new server
- Install the new API (for custom applications that use it)
- Install the new custom applications (if applicable)
- Configure applications based on paths from old server to new server
- Request License key for server ID and new features
- Install 1 client pc and make sure IQdesktop can connect
